In a fit of rage and determination, I packed all my bags, severed all ties with my old life, and flew to the farthest corner of the world to start a new life.
I said to myself I’ve had enough of this. These feelings have consumed my every waking moment for far too long. I felt it was time to put a stop to it, so I did.
On my first day here I went to the top of a hill overlooking a beautiful lake. I looked across the horizon, closed my eyes, and inhaled deeply with a smile so wide you could see it from behind.
“A breath of fresh air. This is the first day of the rest of my life.”
Then I noticed a small flower at my feet. I kneeled, ever so lightly touched it with my nose, and inhaled. It smelled like that perfume you had.
